How Exploration + Release is performed

This procedure is often used for suspected femoral nerve conduction limitations caused by entrapment or scar adhesion. Microscopic instruments and intraoperative nerve electrical stimulation assessment can be selected if necessary. Usually, the nerve trunk and branches are identified by incision and layered exposure along the nerve's course, and peripheral neurolysis is performed to release fibrous bands, scars, and compression structures; if applicable, limited internal neurolysis can be performed to improve intraneural gliding. Postoperatively, attention is paid to pain, incision, and sensory/muscle strength changes, and limb perfusion and bleeding are monitored. The overall goal is to reduce compression and restore nerve gliding and microenvironment. The above is general health information and not medical advice; specific information is subject to specialist assessment and hospital protocols.
