This procedure is often used for cystic or mass lesions with clear boundaries located in the anterior orbit. The approach can be selected based on skin folds or conjunctiva, depending on the individual. Usually under general anesthesia, soft tissues are dissected along the established approach, protecting the extraocular muscles and neurovascular structures, exposing the lesion and removing it as completely as possible while maintaining the integrity of the cyst wall; drainage is placed if necessary, and hemostasis and layered sutures are performed. The specimen is sent for pathology. Postoperative monitoring of vision, intraocular pressure, and eye movements aims to relieve compression and preserve eye function. The above is general health information, not medical advice; specific information is subject to specialist assessment and hospital protocols.
