How ESD is performed

ESD is performed under direct endoscopic visualization, often by first marking the periphery of the lesion and injecting submucosally to lift the lesion, then making a mucosal incision, separating along the submucosal layer with a special knife, removing it en bloc as much as possible, and performing hemostasis and wound management as necessary. The specimen is sent for pathological evaluation of the margin and depth of invasion. Postoperative monitoring focuses on signs of perforation and bleeding, and diet is gradually restored. The above is general health information, not medical advice; specific details are subject to specialist evaluation and hospital protocols.
