Typically, an incision is made in the skin, dissected to the cyst, and the cyst wall is bluntly dissected along the cyst wall to remove the cyst wall as completely as possible; then hemostasis and irrigation are performed, and layered sutures or tension reduction are selected according to the tension. The specimen can be sent for pathology. Postoperative monitoring for signs of bleeding and infection, dressing changes as needed, with the goal of wound healing and symptom relief.
