This procedure is often performed under local anesthesia or sedation. A puncture is made into the vessel through the femoral or radial artery, and digital subtraction angiography is used to locate the bronchial artery or collateral vessels related to hemoptysis. Selective intubation is performed with microcatheter support, and embolization is performed using microparticles, coils, or gelatinous materials as appropriate, with the goal of reducing blood supply to the lesion and reducing the risk of bleeding. Postoperative monitoring includes vital signs, puncture site, chest tightness, pain, and recurrent hemoptysis.
