CO₂ Laser Ablation

Treatment is mostly performed under local anesthesia or sedation, using a carbon dioxide laser to fractionally vaporize the abnormal mucosa, trying to preserve the surrounding normal tissue. The area is marked before surgery, and evenly ablated to an appropriate depth under the guidance of a microscope or oral endoscope, and kept in view with cooling and smoke evacuation devices. After surgery, the wound is protected with hemostatic materials and pain and infection prevention management is performed. Early monitoring of bleeding and edema, the goal is to remove abnormal epithelium and promote re-epithelialization.
