Strabismus Correction (Rectus Recession/Resection, Adjustable Suture)

This procedure is used to correct strabismus, with optional adjustable sutures for postoperative fine-tuning if necessary. Typically, a conjunctival approach is used under a microscope to dissect the target extraocular muscle, which is then recessed or shortened according to the plan and fixed to a new position with a slipknot or similar technique. After awakening, the sutures can be tightened or loosened appropriately based on the evaluation of eye position and double vision.
