Pars plana vitrectomy is performed through 25–27G microincisions under appropriate anesthesia. An infusion is placed, and the opacities are gradually removed with a cutter and light source. Membrane peeling, staining, or endolaser is combined if necessary to stabilize the retina, and gas or silicone oil is filled as needed.
