What is Periarticular Osteotomy?
Used for those with unilateral overload due to force line abnormality. Preoperative imaging is used to plan the angle, and intraoperative osteotomy is performed at the near-joint area according to the plan. Open/closed wedge is used to adjust the force line, bone grafting or alternative materials are placed if necessary, and fixed with steel plates and screws. Postoperative imaging is used for confirmation, and pain and perfusion are monitored. Gradual rehabilitation is performed to redistribute the load.
